Module 4:

My educational goal in Computer Science is to develop my front-end skills, as I feel I lack knowledge in design and color palettes. I also want to learn more about operating systems, but I’m still unsure about what the course covers. The books I’ve seen mainly focus on learning Linux commands and programming in C. I don’t have a specific career goal in Computer Science besides wanting a job where I can work from home. I’m not ready to leave the valley where I live, but I’m considering it since I’m pretty sure there’s no job market for CS here. I’ll be ready to take the test in 18 months, and I’d like to achieve an 80% score. This week was focused more on reflecting about my career, AI, and team collaboration. It was interesting to think about these topics.

Module 3:

The study tip topic I chose is public speaking. I’m not very confident in public speaking, but I find the advice on dealing with stage fright interesting. I plan to incorporate this advice into my approach and work on handling my own nervousness.      This week, I finished my essay based on my team’s reviews. Their feedback helped me a lot in revising certain parts and extending it to a full 6 pages.      The article “What Every Computer Science Major Should Know” was interesting and provided insights into useful books. It helps me prepare by suggesting which books to look for. I’ll check if these books are available on O'Reilly Online or if I can find alternatives on the site.      I consider it’s important to respect everyone’s work. While it’s good to help each other, simply copying someone else’s work benefits neither party. I will also follow the CS Code of Integrity to uphold these values.

After reading about effective study skills, I’ve noticed that while I have some experience, I haven’t mastered skills like taking notes, outlining textbooks, and organizing my notes for revision. My weaker areas are managing my time, revising my schedule, and making every hour count.      One management skill I need to improve is prioritization. I tend to leave important tasks until the last moment, and I should learn to avoid this. Additionally, I need to work on overcoming procrastination.      I understand the importance of effective project management for achieving success, and I’ve found that some strategies are very helpful. For example, the Gantt Chart is something I’ve heard of before, but I only learned about it in detail recently. Starting with a Work Breakdown Structure and creating a chart are useful strategies to complete tasks within the required timeframe.      My top three picks from the previous cap...

Module 1:

This is my first official week at CSUMB. I already met my team last week, and we continue to work together this week. I like how my team works, and I hope I can be helpful to them too. Also, this week, I took some quizzes, updated my LinkedIn profile, and learned about the APA format. Even though I already knew about it, my schoolwork was always done in MLA format.
